ABOUT THE LEAD HISTORIAN - Dr. Jackie S. Henderson

Dr. Jackie S. Henderson began her work in Genealogy in January 2001 after volunteering to host her Family's 13th Annual Family Reunion in Stone Mountain Georgia in July 2002.

The documentation for the Haywood-Sherman Family History was originally written in narrative format by William R. Sherman Sr.  (Dr. Henderson's late father).   This same information was later typed and distributed at the 1st Family Reunion in 1981 by William R. Sherman Jr.

In 2001, this information was placed in a database, updated with more detailed Genealogy information,  and placed in a Family Tree format.  The Family Tree was printed on a large   3" x  7" outdoor vinyl banner and displayed at the Family Reunion in 2002.

This personal family Genealogy search led to a desire to work with other families in their Genealogy search, and thus the introduction of YOUR FAMILY RESEARCH.

Dr. Henderson is a member of the Afro-American Historical & Genealogical Society Inc. (AAHGS), national and metro Atlanta chapter.

Dr. Henderson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia State University, a Master of Divinity from Emory University’s Candler School of Theology and a Doctor of Ministry from Jacksonville Theological Seminary.
